Tips to increase your Car Tyre Life?
When we talk of tyre servicing, tyre rotation plays an important role. When we drive our cars, the wear and tear of the tyres happen unevenly. The tyres at the front always experience greater wear and tear due to the pressure exerted during steering and braking as also due to most of the car weight being in front of the car.
In order to maximize the life of tyres, it is advised to regularly rotate the front and back tyres. This prevents uneven tyre wear and delays the need for tyre replacement.
You can choose between two methods of tyre rotation, the four-wheel method and the five-wheel method.
Four-Wheel Rotation
If you have a front-wheel drive car, then four-wheel rotation involves installing the front wheels on the corresponding rear hubs, while the rear wheels are installed in a criss-cross manner on to the front-hubs.
If you have a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive car, then four-wheel rotation involves installing the rear wheels on the corresponding front hubs, while the front wheels are installed in a criss-cross manner on to the rear hubs.
Five-Wheel Rotation
If you have a front-wheel drive car, then five-wheel rotation involves installing the front wheels on the corresponding rear hubs. Next, the spare wheel is used to replace the front right wheel, the rear right wheel is moved to the front left wheel, and the rear left wheel is used as the spare wheel.
